The Anniversary Quilt 2004
by Sue Nickels and Pat Holly

Machine pieced, appliquéd and quilted. Cotton fabric, cotton threads and cotton blend batting.

Sue and Pat made this quilt for the 20th anniversary of the American Quilters Society. The best of show winners were asked to display a new quilt to hang next to their best of show quilt for a special exhibit at the Museum of the American Quilters Society. Pat and Sue thought it would be a nice contrast to The Beatles Quilt to make reproduction style quilt to contrast the very contemporary themed Beatles Quilt. The work was divided equally between Pat and Sue. The appliqué design and stitching was done by both, the piecing was Pat’s job and Sue did the machine quilting.

New York State of Mind 2001
by Sue Nickels and Pat Holly

Machine pieced, appliquéd and quilted. Cotton fabric, cotton threads and cotton blend batting.

This quilt was part of an invitational exhibit called Double Visions: Companions and Choices.  Watercolor artist Rod Buffington invited quilt artists to make a quilt using a certain pattern and he created a watercolor painting to hang beside the quilt. Pat and Sue worked on this quilt in the same format their other collaborative quilts were done. They shared in the appliqué design and stitching.  Pat did the precision piecing and Sue did the machine quilting.
